On Wednesday August 7, 2024, Valley Outdoors along with staff from the Inyo National Forest, Mono County and Frosty 4Wheeler Off Highway Vehicle Recovery worked with the Two Wolf Foundation on several restoration projects along the high use areas just off of Owens River Road near June Lake, CA.
The Two Wolf Foundation had originally traveled from Montana to work on a historic cabin preservation project in the Monache Meadows area, but the project was placed on hold due to wildfires near the work site. Improvise, Adapt and Overcome was the call and onto new projects in the area.
The Two Wolf Foundation, led by Brian, “is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering personal connection, continued service, and post-traumatic growth in the lives of military veterans and former first responders.” The Team was comprised of veterans from across the USA. Visit Twowolf.org for more information about this outstanding organization.
The newly planned work on Wednesday, comprised of delineation of roads and trails with logs, vertical mulching and raking out illegal trails along with new signage throughout the area, was completed in short order. This was truly a community work effort from near and afar and is exemplary at bringing everyone together for a common goal, common good.
Valley Outdoors wishes safe travels to the Two Wolf Foundation on their road trip back to Montana and thanks to all who helped pitch in.
